Winston Churchill Facts

His name is recognized across the world for being a big political influence in World War 2. Churchill, born on 30 November 1874, was a British politician and a statesman who was well known for his speeches he made to the people of the United Kingdom. He is considered by lots of people one of the greatest and best wartime leaders of the 20th century.

Winston Churchill's passion for Cuban cigars come from the first time when he was sent to Cuba, where he discovered them for the first time.
While being a war reporter, he was sent to South Africa to cover the Second Boer War. There he was captured and made a prisoner of war in Pretoria. Gladly, he managed to escape from the prisoner of war camp. Ironically, such a valuable man had a bounty on his hand of only 25 pounds.
